The Nursery

Our nursery is part of our home. We aid in the whelping process, but let mom do the important work.  After whelping we stay close to mom and babies to make sure there are not any complications.  The puppies are weighed on a daily basis to make sure they are gaining.   We start socializing the puppies from the minute they are born.  They are held on a daily basis and we start training as soon as they are ready.   The training includes crate training, sit, and going out a doggy door to go potty.  They start learning the words down and wait. This training provides the puppies an easier transition to their new homes and makes it easier for their new families to put them in a routine. We start feeding them at 3 weeks with baby cereal and puppy formula.  Then we gradually add in soaked puppy food until they are on a full ration of puppy food. When they go to their new homes we send them with a bag of puppy food and a blanket that is specially made for them.
